FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS

We are currently in the fundraising phase of this endeavour. As part of our sponsorship application, we must demonstrate that our "constituent group" has the financial resources necessary to support a refugee family during the resettlement year. Although the federal government will provide some income support for six months, our fundraising goal is $30,000. Your contributions help support the family throughout their first year here as we help them become established in Canada.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND IN-KIND CONTRIBUTIONS

While money is a key component of the settlement plan, there will be many other ways to help the family create a new home in the Almaguin Highlands. When the time comes to welcome our family and we have a clearer idea of what their start-up needs will be (how many beds? what size winter jackets?), we will need donations of clothing, furniture and other household goods to get the family established. We will communicate regularly throughout the process so check back to the "updates" page of our website or consider following our facebook page and twitter feed
